Terms of Service

Last Updated: October 8, 2026

1. Who we are, and agreeing to these terms

Meet Before You Swipe® is operated by Blinkk Events, LLC, doing business as Halllo ("Halllo," "we," "our," or "us"). These terms cover the halllo.co website and the Meet Before You Swipe mobile app (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, registering for an event, buying anything through the Service, or hosting on it, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What the Service is

Meet Before You Swipe is a way for singles to meet in person first. Hosts run clubs and events. Guests register, a host decides who is approved, approved guests buy a ticket, and people meet at the event. Only after meeting can two people like each other, match and chat. Nobody can like, match with or message somebody they haven't met, either at an event or on an MBYS Virtual call (section 9). The one exception is a matchmaker's introduction (section 8), which arranges a first date and shares no contact details.

3. Who can use the Service

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
  • One account per person. The account and profile you create are yours alone; don't share them or create one for somebody else.
  • Give accurate information: your real name, age, gender, city and a photo of you. Hosts rely on it to decide who attends.
  • We sign you in with emailed codes, not passwords. Keep access to your email secure; you are responsible for what happens on your account.

4. Registering and being approved

Registering for an event is a request, not a booking. Each club may set requirements, and an event may refuse a guest whose age is outside the range the club set. Beyond that, the host decides who is approved, and approval is at the host's discretion. A guest may be declined, or placed on a waitlist when the event is full for their gender, and a waitlisted guest may be offered a place if one opens. Being approved for an event of a club adds you to that club's members.

5. Buying a ticket

  • Tickets go on sale when the host opens sales. Every approved guest is then emailed and has 48 hours to buy. A guest who doesn't buy in that time loses their place, and it may be offered to somebody on the waitlist.
  • You pay the host's ticket price plus a service fee. The full amount is shown before you pay. Prices are in US dollars.
  • Once ticket sales open, an event's ticket price is fixed and cannot be changed.
  • Some clubs charge a membership fee, which may be added to your first ticket in that club (section 7). You may also add Event Concierge to a ticket. Both are shown, with their prices, before you pay, and are charged together with the ticket as one payment.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details go straight into Stripe's own form; Halllo never sees or stores your card number. The charge appears on your statement under the club's name, not Halllo's.
  • Nothing is sold through Apple's or Google's in-app purchase. Tickets, memberships and matchmaking are real-world services paid through Stripe.
  • You are charged once per ticket. If you are ever charged twice for the same ticket, the second charge is refunded to you in full, automatically, and your ticket is unchanged.

6. Refunds and cancellations

If the host cancels the event

A host can cancel an event only before it starts. From its start time the event can't be cancelled, and any refund is made by the host, guest by guest (see "If you can't make it" below).

When a host cancels, every paid guest is refunded in full, automatically: the ticket, the service fee, and any Event Concierge and club membership fee paid with that ticket. Refunds can take 5–10 business days to appear on your card. A cancelled event stays cancelled. A ticket can't be bought for a cancelled event; a payment that goes through just as an event is cancelled is refunded in full.

If you can't make it

You can cancel your registration on the web or in the app at any time before you are checked in at the event — while your registration is pending, while you are on the waitlist, once the host has approved you, and after you have paid. Cancelling releases your place. If you have already paid, a refund is at the host's discretion. The host can refund you from the app.

What a refund includes

A ticket refunded in full also refunds anything paid with it, including a club membership fee, and a membership paid with a refunded ticket stops counting.

Disputes with your bank

If something is wrong with a charge, please contact us at support@halllo.co first; we can usually fix it faster than a bank dispute. If a dispute (chargeback) on a ticket is decided against the payment, any club membership paid with that ticket stops counting, and that ticket no longer unlocks MBYS Virtual.

7. Club memberships

A club owner may charge a membership fee once the club is large enough. The fee is either one-time, or annual and valid for 12 months. It is paid with your first ticket in that club, and members who were already in the club when the fee was introduced (founding members) don't pay it. Paying a membership fee doesn't guarantee approval for any event; the host still decides who attends. A club owner may remove a member from the club.

8. The matchmaking package

  • In clubs that offer it, an approved member can buy the matchmaking package: 3 first dates within 6 months, for $899. It is the same price in every club and is paid in the app through Stripe.
  • After you buy it, you fill in a short questionnaire for your matchmaker and have an intake call with them outside the app. The 6 months start when your matchmaker marks the intake call done.
  • Your matchmaker suggests members of the club to you. A member is introduced only if they say yes, and your matchmaker then arranges a first date in person. Each of you covers your own share of the date.
  • Only a first date that actually happened counts toward your 3. A date that was cancelled, or that you or the other person missed, doesn't count, and you are still owed it.
  • If 6 months pass with fewer than 3 dates delivered, your matchmaker keeps going at no extra cost until you have had all 3.
  • Members of a club that offers matchmaking may be suggested to other members by the club's matchmaker. You can step out of this in your profile, for each club, at any time.
  • Only the club's owner and the matchmaker the owner has assigned you to can read your questionnaire, and only while your package is open.
  • For any other question about a package, including a refund request, contact support@halllo.co.

9. MBYS Virtual video calls

In some clubs, members who have bought a ticket to one of that club's events can request a short video call (a "vibe check") with another member they haven't met. Calls take place in the app, last up to 15 minutes, and are never recorded. Either person can decline a request, block or report the other.

10. Meeting people safely, and how to behave

Hosts review who comes to their events, but neither Halllo nor any host can guarantee anyone's identity, intentions or behaviour, and Halllo doesn't run background checks. You are responsible for your own safety and your own conduct, at events, on dates and online. Meet in public places, tell a friend where you'll be, and leave if you feel unsafe.

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, abuse, stalk or intimidate anybody;
  • misrepresent who you are, your age or your intentions, or use someone else's photo;
  • use the Service to sell, solicit, advertise or recruit;
  • share another member's personal information or photos without their consent;
  • post anything unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or violent;
  • try to get around a block, a decline, a removal, or any limit the Service sets;
  • scrape, copy or interfere with the Service, or access it by any means other than its own interfaces.

You can block or report anyone from the app. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, and a host may decline or remove anyone from their club or events.

11. Hosts

  • Hosts are independent organisers, not Halllo's employees or agents. A host is responsible for their events, including the venue, what happens there and complying with the law, and for decisions about who attends.
  • To sell tickets, a host connects a payout account through Stripe and agrees to Stripe's terms. Halllo sets the account's business category; hosts don't choose it.
  • A host keeps 90% of the ticket price, of any membership fee and Event Concierge, and of the matchmaking package. The rate is the same for every host. Halllo keeps the rest plus the service fee, and pays Stripe's processing fees.
  • Ticket income is paid to the host after the event has happened, never when the ticket sells. Matchmaking package income is paid 30 days after the client's intake call. A payment that is refunded or disputed isn't paid out, and a cancelled event pays its host nothing.
  • When a guest is refunded, the host's share of that payment is taken back from the host's Stripe balance.

12. Your content

You own what you put on the Service, such as your photos, profile and messages. You give Halllo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and share it as needed to run the Service. For example, your profile is shown to the hosts of events you register for and to approved members of your clubs. You confirm you have the right to share anything you post.

13. Closing your account

You can delete your account from the app at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Some records, such as payment records, may be kept where the law requires; see our Privacy Policy.

14. Disclaimers and limits of our liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, Halllo makes no promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any event will take place as planned, or that you will meet or match with anyone.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Halllo is not liable for the conduct of any user or host, online or offline, or for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid through the Service in the 12 months before the claim.

You agree to compensate Halllo for any claim brought against us that arises from your breach of these terms or your conduct towards other users.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service changes. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll tell you by email or in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
